2016 SMB visit – day 2

15th February
Today we woke up to a delicious breakfast prepared for us at wonderful Enro hotel. Soon after we got back on the mini busses and made our way to Makonzi Primary School, SMBs partner school. When we arrived after a 1 hour journey all the children were already outside waiting for us to arrive. They greeted us with a fantastic welcoming song before we got a tour of the school. We were all surprised when we saw the toilets and decided to move on.
After the tour we sung head, shoulders, knees and toes, which we were then taught in Lugandan. Next the girls went off to play Netball, they lost, and the boys played football, which they drew 1-1. After that we told the story of Goldilocks and the three bears and we were read a tribal story, which had many moral messages. The time was flying so soon after we had lunch which was rice and a very nice stew and cold water, which is a rare luxury out here. It was nearly time to go but before we did we coloured in bear masks and made fancy bracelets with all the children which they thoroughly enjoyed, no matter what they’re age . It was now time to go and when we were leaving all the children and the teachers waved as we set off back to our hotel .
